Police charged New Haven County resident 49-year-old Uilton Dias of Derby with sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor on Friday, Dec. 8 in Seymour.
Seymour Police Chief John Bucharti, investigators said they received information in June that Dias was having the relationship.
After an investigation, detectives determined that it was sexual, the chief said.
Investigators said that on at least one occasion, sexual activity took place in the town of Seymour.
Dias was held on a $250,000 bond.
